Isaac Albéniz wrote two suites with themes inspired on Spanish folklore: the Spanish Suite, Op. 47, published in 1886, and the Iberia Suite, wrote few after his death in 1909. Both works (and some other ones) are allegiances to the growing nationalism of those years. They have also in common that were originally scored for piano. They would be after orchestrated by, among other musicians, the master Fernández Arbós. In the disk I present here, a 10” LP, we can listen pieces from both suites performed by an unknown Orquesta Lírica Audio Museo de Madrid conducted by a not less unknown José Olmedo conductor.
