La música para dos pianos no es tan abundante como la escrita para uno solo. De ahí el interés de este disco en el que encontramos dos obras de compositores rusos compuestas en forma de suite. Cronológicamente Arensky es el mayor, pero los dos pertenecen al movimiento romántico. De hecho fue profesor de Rachmaninov, aunque dicen las biografías que Rachmaninoff fue un estudiante poco aplicado en sus años jóvenes.
